Default True Duals w/magnaflow 4x9's

I have been researching for about a year now on different TD setups, and it seems like the 4x9's have a real nice deep tone, little rasp, and aren't ungodly loud for a TD setup. My question is, how much louder would they be compared to a car w/stock internals, stock manifolds, and flowmaster catback? Aslo, how good can they tuck up if you go under the axle? Would you be able to lower the car an inch???

i have them on my ride, with the cam they make the car really sound great.

they tuck up pretty nice considering how big they are.

i think they would be just a bit louder than the flowmaster setup, assuming the rest of the setup is similar (engine).

comparing stock w/ flowmaster to LT, no cats and TDs...well that's not a fair comparison.

i'll go try to get some pics of my clearance, they are tucked up about as tight as you can get them, i think you could lower it an inch ( i plan to) and be ok... as long as you're careful.

Mine are over the axle. Magnaflow offset 3" in/3" out 5x8's.

I love the sound, but I also have a large cammed 402 in my car.
Get some idea from here.

Really, you think they are that quiet? I know its not fair to compare because its non-true vs true, but are the 4x9's really that quiet on a true dual system? I really am looking for something that is definitely louder, but can be relatively quiet if I need to. When I am off the gas right now my car is pretty quiet. At WOT I want the car to sound like an animal.

Mr Luos, are the 5x8's harder to tuck underneath? Your car sounds pretty sweet but almost a little too quiet for my liking.

Do any of you know the dimensions of the single chamber flows? To me they are the best sounding, but I think lowering the car at all would be completely out of question.

I like the tameness of it when it is capped.

There was a little 'work' required to tuck them under the car. They are under the rear of the car. A little BFH work and they are solidly in place.

I have them. I'm stock internals and they have no rasp, and the sound is pretty tame until you get on it. Overall it really does sound great in person. So to answer your question, they're probably comparable to the FM at cruising speeds and louder at WOT.

my 4x9s quieted my car down considerably even with the cam...at least compared to straight pipes.

it's still deep and throaty...but not earsplitting anymore.

comparison...straight pipes vs magnaflows:

the whole thing is the same except one has the mufflers on the end of the Xpipe.
camera was never moved nor was the car

you can even hear the door chime...but the car is almost silent.

I have them on my TA. After the LT's there is a small bit of custom piping which leads right into the mufflers and then the turn downs are welded onto the ends.

Sounds great IMO and def screams at WOT.

I had these mufflers. They sounded awesome but the ground clerance was poor. My car was lowered 1" and I would scrape on pretty much every speed bump. It's not that the mufflers were too tall, they were so wide you can't really tuck them up into the body. I'd suggest smaller bullets mufflers. If you want a quiet-ish setup, then go with a nice catback.
