new mass air sensor and intake check engine light help
new mass air sensor and intake check engine light help I just installed a new slp mass air flow sensor anf the k&n fipk and my check engine light is now in. I made sue everything was hooked up. I took it to autozone and they ran the code and it was my air temp sensor. what do I need to do to correct this problem and get the engine light off.
make sure its plugged in, check and see if you blew one of your fuses, forgot which one it is but its common to blow and will through this code. Have them reset the codes. I doubt you broke the actual sensor
well I had them reset the codes and it came back on and then it went off for a day and then it came back on. I will check the fuses and see if that may be the problem. if anyine has anymore ideas I will gladly except them.

With that said, the stock MAF's (from what I have read) are well enough up to around 500hp so why mess with it. I guess it was that magical air bunny and cheap $50 MAFs on ebay that made me do it.

still havent solved the problem, but i haven't checked the fuses yet. by the way i am not a newbie. i have been on this sight for a long time. i don't post a lot but i read the forums and do my research, its not a cheap ebay maf unless you think slp is a ebay company. by the way, and if i understand it correctly the more air you get in and out of your motor the more potential horse power you will have. i am not planning on stoping here its just a start.

years old....but witht he k&n FIPK i noticed a check engine light.
Had a code read and i guess the engine isn't used to getting that much air in it. from the intake i had the check engine light turn on for both my 99 z28 a4 and my 2001 ws6 m6.
light only when on when i went full throttle.
