wouldnt it be better to have it after the merge? that way u r getting the reading from both banks and not just one side of the car? unless u have flow matched injectors etc im sure there is some deviation?

The way I figured it was, I want both banks being read, but you also want the bung as close to the engine as possible, so you get a more precise, accurate reading. When I had a Y pipe setup, mine was a few inches after the merge, going in from the side of the pipe.

Ideally you'd want two bungs, one on each bank right after the collector and switch the wideband back & forth (or run dual widebands $$$). This would allow you to see variations from bank-to-bank instead of a mix of the two. Sticking it right after the merge would work fine though, so long as the sensor has no problem staying hot enough.

Where is the best location if you have true duals?

I'm guessing on either bank as close the the motor as possible?

On my duals, I've got it 8" behind the driver's side collector. I chose the drivers side because it tends to run a wee bit leaner than the passenger side, as to error on the side of safety.

Cool, so did you just buy an o2 bung and drill a hole and weld it on?

Cyl #7 is known to run a bit leaner than the rest, although I have no way to monitor individual cylinders to personally verify it. I have noticed through logging, as have many others, that the drivers side does run a tiiiny bit leaner.....nothing huge though.
