CRANK SENSOR. I guarrantee you pinched the wire when you were reinstalling your starter. If you did; see how bad it is, if its bad then (I dont remember if the sensor has a pigtail or if you need to splice in new wires) you might need to splice in a new piece of wire and solder it in like I did because I was in a rush to get the thing back and running when I did my headers the first time on the 99.

just food for thought

Even if the crank sensor is not the problem, you replacing it will prevent a possible future problem.

It's jsut completely bizare so I need professional help at this point. I dont wanna throw money in the dark and not solve the problem.

Have someone go test the crank sensor voltage with the key on and use a voltmeter to verify. That'll tell you.

I dont forsee it being mechanical at all. before when the cam wasnt dot to dot it was off like 1 tooth it wouldnt even turn over it would get stuck. fixed that yadda yadda fixed the cam pin got them perfect and turned over smooth as silk.

If teddy thinks the crank sensor may be the problem then I'll fork out the cash to get a new one.

VATS is controlled by the BCM and can't be turned off via HP Tuners (even though it is in HP Tuners where you can turn it off). Does your security light stay on?
