Default has anyone used eastwood silver high temp coating

its pretty good looking i was wondering if anyone had used it an their headers. i would get ceramic coating but its too expensive. plus using this will give me a chance to fix any problems i find on the headers.

Yeah, I was planning on using either the silver or the black. Someone has to have used this stuff.

I used it on the crummy Grot y-pipe. Had it on for a year before I replaced the pipe and it held up well. I'll use the rest to coat my dual pipes.

I used it in my Y-pipe and RT cats. I don't drive the car that much but it looks as good now as the day I sprayed it on. Those cats get damn hot too! If you want I can email you pics...

I used it one my MAC's. Works great. Still looks new. They key to using this stuff is to brush it on in thin coats (less is better) and proper surface preparation. Use steel wool or sandpaper to strip, then rub with acetone after. This will insure good adhesion.I tried spraying it on with my spray gun, but it didn't work. You will get some smoke at startup but this is normal.

Does it come in a spray can? Or does it require a gun to spray it on? Link?

it's a can and they prefer you to apply it with a foam brush... i did a set of LT headers for my 88 GTA and it looks real nice!

I did my Y-pipe with the Eastwood aerosol spray kit. Worked well, but kinda messy. That stuff is like anti-seize - you grab the tube and suddenly its all over you :o I also used the Eastwood pre-paint prep. It worked well to remove the crap on the bare metal before painting. Apparently the stuff actually cures with the heat of the pipes at startup so this is important. It will stink for a day or so as it cures.

Ramair, will send you pics this evening when i get home.

Reckless,
That link is to their exhaust kit which includes both the high temp coating and the paint in the spray can. The spray stuff is only good for tailpipes and mufflers, not headers, cats, or other higher temp applications. So you don't really need the whole kit.

Thanks! I am going to get uncoated headers, so I want to put something on them.
