Default Another cut out and True duel beating! ???

Ok heres my problem. I have FLP LT's, catted Y pipe (high flow cats), and Corsa exhaust. I was wanting something deeper and a little louder so I was thinking about True duels. Only thing is my car is lowered with Strano springs (1.2in drop). The guy at the exhaust place said its impossible to have true duels on a TA. Well I figured he would say that because most exhaust people around here are well...retarded. I was wondering if a 1 electric 3" cutout in the catted Y pipe would be good for the sound I'm looking for. The thing is I have had a ORY on my car and it sounded like CRAP. Similar to a old farm truck IMO. Would the cutout out sound like that or would it be more refined with that deep tone to it? I just don't want to waste the money if its just going to sound like my car does with the ORY in there. I know this subject has been discussed thousands of times but I would really appreciate your knowledgeable input.

I think it would be a waste of an expensive corsa setup, but i get a few compliments with my cutout, and i'm still on stock manifolds.

Doesn't sound bad to me with the cutout, but i'm waiting on my LTs to install my TSP true Duals

A cutout is far from being refined! If you didn't like an ORY you will not like an open cutout. A cutout is just plain loud, there is no other way around it it is just loud and obnoxious. With that being said I like mine but you seem to enjoy a different sound.

So even with cats before the cut out it would still be really loud and obnoxious? I like the deep tone. Don't matter how loud it is just a good deep really loud rumble if that makes any sense at all.

Just buy a cheap stainless steel manual cutout and put it in the i-pipe right before it goes over the axel. If you get tired of it just cap it up for awhile.

I've been reading and reading and I think i'm gonna try a E cutout. It seems like it would be fun to play with. Now if I can just find one thats pretty cheap....

Your still gonna need the cutout itself. The electric part is just a butterfly that bolts to it to open and close it.

Oh ok I just wanted to make sure you knew that it wasn't just the electric part. Anyway if you go with an electric get a DMH (4 year warranty) or the one from Byunspeed. I forgot the name of the one from Byunspeed but supposedly it is good too but doesn't have a 4 year warranty. I have only heard bad things about the electric motor from QTP.

IMO you should get the manual cutout 1st and see if you like the sound. If you do like the sound then buy the electric part later to add. I think it would be a waste to buy it all for like just under $200 and not like the sound. I personally would rather spend $30 and if I don't like it then close it up and just be out $30.

Depends on how much you open it..I usually have mine closed..but sometimes I open it 1/4 or so, and it sounds fine...Open all the way..and I agree..its f''' loud.

lotsa people have elec. cutouts. i got a manual cutout and love it. i learned from their mstakes basically. mine stays open all the time. most people w/ elec cutouts leave it open all the time. its not too loud either imo!

Theres a perfect spot for a cutout on our cars, if you look at the i-pipe of your exhaust under the passengers side seat there is a bump and you wont lose any ground clearance

Well I should get the cut out in tomorrow or tuesday at the lastest. I was wondering one thing though. Where do I hook the power wire? I've read everything about where to run the wires and where to mount the cut out just not sure about the power wire. Also, where is the best place to ground the ground wire? Thanks for help

I would add a cutout If I were you since you already have an exhaust setup already. I think a cut out would sound good through cats IMO. BTW, Cutout's in the "I" pipe is not too loud IMO, Cutouts before the collectors are loud though, I have tried both on two different Camaro's, Same year.
