Default slp lid install

I was having trouble sliding the lid onto the maf. I finally put the cooked lid
over low heat on the stove and muscled that sob on. That connection is way too tight.

yeah I had one and it was so tight it got a huge crack in it. you should reem out the inside a little bit or cut a couple short slits in it to give it some flexibility

had same problem w/ maf. Did the front top lip of the lid slide inside of the front bottom of the lid (in between the metal clips)? that was only way I could get a decent fit. BTW, dynoed the car @ Thunder Racing w/ lid. Car averaged 302hp. Then, last run dynoed at 106 w/ the lid unlatched.

I had the same problem. I put my maf in the freezer, heated the lid with the oven door open, then put soap on the inside of the lid. It still wouldn't go on. The fit was so tight the lip on the maf was grinding rings into the lid. Eventually I just refroze the maf, resoaped the lid, took a propane torch to the lid, and basically melted it. It popped in after that.

Keep in mind a few months ago they redesigned the lid. See thread:

If you have an older one aka pre March you got off easy. For all of you who have a post March one or plan on getting one have fun.

Had same problem! What the hell SLP!! I actually took 80 grit paper to the small lip that is on the aluminum housing of maf. Worked perfectly, but still had to use some force to get it on.

I would try to take pictures of the inside lip of mine, but I'm scared of having to put it back together again.
