Default Tranny temp gauge install

Looking for some advice here on installing the tranny temp sensor. I'm not really enthusiastic about drilling a hole in the tranny pan and welding the sensor there. I found something that some diesel trucks are doing to set theirs up. They slice a hot tranny line and install the lines on this adapter and screw the sensor in the middle:



I think they specifically use the tranny cooler line

Anything like this available for the 4L60E? Or is this even possible with our cars? Are there any substitutes?

There is a test port on the drivers side of the 4L60E that I used for my temp guage. It just uses the the temp sensor that I got with the guage. It screws right in no problem.
Now I have heard its a few degrees off but its off to the good if you know what I mean.

I would think you can do what you are planning off the radiator..

My tranny cooler is mounting on the front of my AC condensor and I know there are two lines that go into/out of the cooler.. You could easily mount the setup you have shown into one of those lines...

Which semi-makes me want to run a temp guage there..

Which would explain why this wouldn't work Totally forgot about that.

HOWEVER, luckily I just received this picture stating this would work:




Supposedly the sensor that comes with the autometer gauge just screws right in!
