Default Borla !muffler

has anyone with the borla adjustable gotten rid of their muffler???

im considering getting someone to fab up a stainless pipe so i can swap my muffler out..... mostly because i think its hitting the heat shield and dont feel like fixing it... rather just take it out. Anyone done it before and have the size and bend angle?????

anyone know how much something like that would cost????

Why not just rip the borla system off, sale it, and then get a muffler shop to fab up a straight exhaust system. Should make you a little dough in the long run.

ok ummmmm, maybe one of us isnt getting something.

its an adjustable system, you can run an open plate and it will be just as loud as the LM1 system. If youre wanting to take it out, fab up a piece of pipe and do all that just cuz you dont wanna fix a rattle then umm. nvm

oh its adjustable???????????? did not know that...........

i am running open plate now.... and it is not NEARLY as loud as a loudmouth.... ive heard my car side by side with a buddys z28

if you have a borla on your TA now and didnt notice.... alot of exhaust gets dispersed through the drivers side too even with open plate.... which means its passing through the muffler......

it would be nice for the car to be louder.... maybe it will rid of the borla noise that people dont like.... and yea i dont feel like fooling around with the heat shield... id rather just take the muffler out and save it for when i do more mods... when i have the money... a long time from now

I have the borla dual dual catback exhaust setup and i'm just gonna change it out and have a shop fab up a true dual over axle setup. i'll probably keep the borla dual dual tips though.

well I finally did it............. it was 40 dollars for stainless pipe bent to size with a hanger welded on, new clamps and 2 new band clamps for the tips.

It is clearly louder than it use to be, but not obnoxious in any sense. I think it sounds a hell of a lot better and deeper. With the muffler the exhaust note was very light sounding, now even at start up you can tell it is allot throatier.

ill get some pics and video clips up when I get a chance...... Im satisfied

also I can swap the muffler in and out whenever i want..... so if the H/C setup I go with in the future is to loud I can put it back in

LM1 > Borla

When it comes to how loud it is. At least for a bolt on car maybe not a cammed car.

yea hes right..... even though running open plate..... alot of air and sound still passes through the borla muffler

now that i rid of my muffler it could be considered a LM1 or2 because they are both just straight pipe/ no muffles.....
