I've had mine about a year and it is badly cracked all across the rear, especially passenger side. In fact I just had an issue this weekend and all signs now point to a small piece of the lid getting sucked through the motor. I like the clear lid look with the K&N, 90mm TB and FAST intake... it's just awesome to see that big throttle blade opening.

Guess I'll be going back to my SLP. I'll get some pics if I think about it tonight.

Mine cracked within a year or so. It cracked at the back around the tabs. They didn't break off they just looked like a spider web. I took it off and replaced it with an SLP lid. This was on my old 01 WS6.

I like how 16ppl voted "what's a lid" lol. Had mine 9months and have a tiny bit of cracking around the tabs cuz it seals so tight. No biggie though.

my personal opinion is they look really really cool, but in order for it to look cool, you MUST have a clean filter..........always

not quite sure how its ricer, now if he had a 75ft wing on the back, that would be ricer LOL

I had the original release of the clear lid and it was made from a different material. It was basically hard plastic and didn't withstand much heat cycling. MTI was cool and sent out a letter letting customers know they were faulty and would be replaced at no charge. Since then, I've had my replacement but this one has gone through so many heat cycles, it too is starting to crack arounf the MAF and the seams on the backside. I'll need a new one soon if it keeps up. I was thinking about a different brand as to not deal wit hthis issue anymore.

I think mine is by MTI. I've had it on my car for a few months. I got it off of my brother's WS6. I'm not sure how long he's had it on there but I'll assume for a while but anyways, no problems with it.

I think that cracking has to do with weak motor mounts possibly, weak motor mounts could definately accelerate the problem.

I like those clear lids..thinking of getting one....back in the 60's and early 70's, a LID meant something completely different though.

I have one of the first MTI lids and it is cracked to hell! I just got a new fast toys 85mm lid. Is MTI still replacing the clear lids?

Mine's such a piece of ****. It came with the car though. I'll be replacing it with an SLP when it finally becomes unusable.
