Spark Plug non-fouler (aka Spark Plug defouler)
My friend has a 2000 BMW 323i and got headers put for it. He does want to run cats so i told him to get o2 sensors. He said he will do this option (Spark Plug defouler) because it only costs anout 7 dollars and a trip to autozone. Will this work on a 1998 Camaro?

I've heard of it and seen it done. Usually it works pretty well depending on the car but nobody bothers with this mod on our cars because its better to get the codes tuned out and not run rear O2's at all.

yea i am gonna get headers soon and run catless but to install the headers its 400.00 then the tune is 400.00 and the headers with the ORY is near 500.00 so just seeing if there is a cheaper way.

If the rear O2's are factory originals in your f-body...odds are they're going to fail soon anyways (and throw codes anyways) at which point you either have to replace them (expensive) or turn them off in the PCM anyways...and then you still have some hackhob spacer setup in the exhaust system.
PLUS...if you go with headers that "require" those stupid "O2 sensor extensions" and an off road y-pipe, so you'd be tuning anyways, you can instead of all that, just turn off the rear O2's, then swap the signal wires at the PCM connector for the rear and front O2 sensors, and plug the factory rear connectors into the sensors in your collectors, with no extensions or any other nonsense.

I have used the anti-fouling adaptors to put O2 sensors on older
vehicles with cast iron manifolds. The 18mm ones work if you
cut them down to business-depth and weld them in. But if the
material is stainless, I'd get a stainless bung fitting from Jeg's
or Innovate and do it right. The price is not that different,
though the Zone is handy and you don't have to pay shipping.
Just have to decide whether you care about rust.

I dont know about an fbody, but I did this on my Civic not too long ago.
On an HX model the cat is part of the downpipe coming off of the manifold. The manifold cracked at the o2 so I replaced it w/stainless header, and went ahead and put an all new exhaust on it as well.
The rear o2 was throwing a code, and I used this method, reset the ECU and havent had any problem since.
