Help Me Choose Heades... Please!!
2. QTP's w/ A.I.R. and Catted Y
Im looking for the best setup for my car, and Both sound about dead perfect for my car.
My car is a 2001 SS. Only mods currently on the car is a Magnaflow muffler, Blackwing filter, SLP lid, 85mm Maf, 30# SVO injectors and a Ported TB. With a tune and lid/filter only, the car put down 340/360.
I like both designs, they both offer high velocity merge collectors, offer great Y-pipes and I can get both for the same price.
Now, please help me flip the perverbial coin.
If I were you, I'd go QTP's and get a custom y-pipe made for you...or even true duals. Going custom will fit better and typically cost a lot less, regardless if you get stainless or not. No good exhaust shop is going to charge you $500 for a y-pipe unless you buy some very expensive cats.
Obviously, if you don't want to get a custom y-pipe, you'll probably be forced to go ARH, but you're going to pay a lot more for no real benefits aside from convenience and less performance.
What 85 mm maf do you have just wondering because I have the slp 85 maf and was told not to use it I'm going to check it out in the spring, on a dyno buy the way the stock maf is good for up to 500 hp just so you know.
This isn't hard to believe as QTP's are a longer header. If you compare pics of the two, you'll notice that instantly. Of course, this makes the QTP's a little harder to install and they are more prone to fitment issues (you'll more likely have to grind the K-member with QTP's and the install may take longer), but you're getting the same if not better quality and the same if not better gains for A LOT less money.
