Poll: WS6 owners... JAAM or FTRA
Just looking to see what all of the ws6 owners are thinking about going with? I think when I get my income tax back I am gonna get one or the other and I can't really decide which to go with. So let me know how yall think about either product. Even if your not a ws6 owner feel free to post what you think.

The FTRA is a bit cheaper and FTP has claimed that it is more likely to perform better in theory. I went with the JAAM anyway just because it makes use of the factory hood. I can't see one outperforming the other enough to make it noticeable. the FTRA is 20 bucks cheaper, but I was able to get in on the black Friday discount that FTP had on the JAAM.

I live in south florida where the summer rains generally flood everything. Being our cars sit pretty low, I'm going to go with the JAAM. I like the idea of having my hood functional anyhow. That's what it's there for, right? Also, they say that these cars are bottom feeders and pull air from underneath the car. I'm sorry, but here in south florida you can actually see the heat radiating off the pavement in the summer. It rains and the roads steam! I can't see that air being cooler. To me you'd be just pulling in more hot air from underneath. I'm going with the JAAM. Hands down.

As a side note, we have ONE JAAM kit left on our sale at 178.50. If you want it, get your order in right away.
After this kit, they will go back to the regular price and we will have more stock in about a week.

If you want a functional hood just seal the hood to the lid with some weatherstripping, remove the baffles, and plug the holes in the bottom. I really can't see the big deal about this JAAM thing, it still has 3 gaping holes in it. If you feel you must do something, save yourself $173 and get some sheet aluminum and 2 screws from Home Depot and make your own in 5 minutes. It's not like it's a technological marvel! Hell, I fabbed a BGRA type funnel out of sheet aluminum, I didn't have any special tools except a pop rivet gun and some tin snips. JMO.

I understand, I'm not trying to flame anybody or anything. If you don't have the time, skill, or inclination to do it right it's better to pay for it. I'm more of a do it yourselfer. So, I guess if I had to choose between the two, I would go with the FTRA. Good luck with the decision.

I am a do it yourselfer person, its just that I haven't worked with sheet metal when it had to come out nice lol. But I may look into it, the sealing of the box is my main concern though. I don't know what exactly I am supposed to do.

You can buy some sheet metal and work it, but I don't think it's likely to turn out as nice as the JAAM lower piece unless you are REALLY good. That thing is very professionally done, cut perfectly, and looks great.

Check out this guys thread, he has 3 current on the same topic in the Drag Racing Tech sub-forum.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/851701-ram-air-modifications-will-i-gain-track.html
He added the JAAM, big FTP 85mm super lid, removed the air filter AND hacked his hood. If you take the 1000ft difference in DA into account it looks like he didn't gain anything. FWIW, I don't know if my homemade BGRA made a difference either but I figured it couldn't hurt.
