I did call, and they said it was SS, i asked about the Flowmaster Y collector also, and they said it was SS. And i know that is aluminized. Thats what i cant understand because lots of people are telling that it is aluminized, and then they say SS.
So maybe QTP you shouldnt go with to the OP because you can see the problem i am having with them.

Could it be that maybe this years are SS?

Sorry for the

Thumbs up American Racing Headers

I went ARH and am VERY pleased. They even helped me design a custom 3.5" outlet on the y-pipe to match up to my 3.5" mufflex catback...

Here is a thread I started when I had the exhaust parts in hand. Nick w/ ARH was nice enough to send me a new passenger side header because the 02 bung placement was a little off.

Also, the ground clearance is awesome. You can barely see the y-pipe because it is up so high.

Got my QTP ORY and it is aluminized. I am pissed!
So now my vote goes to QTP headers with the 3" KOOKS ORY.
To install the KOOKS to the QTP only needs minor modifacation from what i have been reading, and you can get a KOOKS ORY that is SS for about the same costs as the QTP ORY.

They also said there must have been "confusion" which i can not understand how many LS1 ORY pipes does QTP make.....................ONE!
Other than that it looks like its going to be a pain in the *** to fit up there because it came in 6 different pieces.

Kooks "Y" pipe sucks compaired to ARH or QTP, in fact SLP's "Y" pipe is a nicer design.

for a y-pipe, i'd just have a shop custom build one and get a high flow merge y collector and your good. - mine came out great and cost the same as getting one from any of the above mentioned minus the bullets I wanted. as for headers.... well i'm biased ( see sig)

They do make great headers, we were talking about Y-pipes.
For headers QTP, KOOKS, ARH, SLP, etc. its all a personal preference and a what "he said, she said" kind of a thing.

Don't dare pay a restocking fee. If they gave you the wrong information, that's their fault, not yours. You shouldn't be held accountable for their mistakes, regardless if they're accidental or intentional. Did you buy the y-pipe from a sponsor or a different retailer? I hope you didn't buy it directly from QTP. I'd never, ever buy an aftermarket car part directly from the manufacturer. You should always buy it from a retailer because the retailer will almost always take it back, and if they don't, as a last resort you still have the manufacturer to turn to.

If QTP won't take it back, I'd make a stink over in the sponsor feedback forum.

I purchased my headers and y-pipe directly from Nick at ARH. He gave me a good price and he worked with me to design the y-pipe outlet. And when I had an issue with the 02 bung he was quick to build me a new header and ship it right out. So, he (ARH) bent over backwards for me. I'm not so sure any sponsor or retailer would have done any better.

Just my 2 cents.

Your upset because you have to remove the steering shaft???? That take all of 5 minutes, and 3 minutes of that is spent getting the tools. Personally I'm pissed because I have to remove the plugwires, but I'll get over it.

I've seen both headers and ended up getting QTPs used for a good deal. Otherwise I would have flipped a coin. Both are awsome and you will see almost no difference in power between them.

There's a sponsor feedback forum. Post it in there and don't freak out about it and it'll get taken care of.
