Default Flanges and /or kits for weld up headers

I got my motor mounts fabbed up for my engine swap and there is no way in hell I am going to be able to get any off the shelf LT or shorty headers to fit in my car, so I am going to have to make my own. Does anyone know where I can get the LS1 header flanges? I was thinking gmpartsdirect.com had them, but without a part number, I never seem to find anything on that site. Also, if anyone knows of good kits or places for bent tubing, that would be great too.

I know that Headers by Ed has the flange, and a whole kit if you like. I think the Sponser that sells the "Pacesetter headers" might have one also. Thunder has their own headers for LS1'1, maybe they would sell you a set.

Boy, Ed must be pretty proud of his flanges. They cost an arm and an ***. I was thinking the others were only like $30 or something.

Yea, Ed must be rich. Seems like I saw some flanges on e-bay a while back.

I have a kit car and standard headers dont fit without alterations. I'm in the process of modding a set of "Pacesetters". I might end up with a mac on one side and a pacesetter on the other.

I am sticking my LS1 in a 3 series BMW, and even factory f/y body exhaust manifolds won't work. The pass side is okay, but the steering gear interfers on the drivers side.

I got a pair of stainless 3" 3-bolt flanges
from Summit and they were something like $39.

I am actually looking for the flanges that bolt to the heads.

Just another thought, but the '01-'02 cast
manifolds are supposed to be almost as good
as shorty headers anyway. Run them with
offroad tubes and whatever you like, downstream from there? If you're too tight for long tubes
are you really going to be able to custom-fab
your way around it?

If you're gonna custom-fab the front end maybe
it would be easier to find some used headers to
hack up, and just rework the tight spots? Less
welding and you might get to leave some of the
tubes alone?

I have zero clearance on the drivers side at the rear where the 01-02 manifold would be. The steering gear is completely in the way. What I am shooting for is pretty much a y-body style shorty header with a horizontal as opposed to vertical collector, with the collector positioned exactly where I need it to sneak under the steering gear.

Some people have the fortune of trying to get 10lbs of stuff in a 5lb bag. My bag is only about 2 1/2lb

I found them. The part number is 12480130 and they are available through gmpartsdirect for $14.00 each.
