Whats the big deal about throwing a code?
Getting ready to order some lt's and ory. I am buying the extensions for the front of course. I hear people say that the rear needs o2 sims and if not then it will throw a code? Is this really a bad thing? Or is there more to this like how my engine will perform without the sims? I plan on adding a cam and all supporting mods by the end of the month, so tuning will be in my near future. Can i install the long tubes now without the sims and drive it around for a few weeks tops? Hurt anything? If the only problem is just a check engine light that doesnt bother me. I am just wondering if not adding the sims right then will damage my engine?

My SES light has been on since last fall and I drove the quite a bit before I put it away. Runs just fine. I don't care about the light. It will be gone next month once my cam goes in anyway. Wait to tune that bitch until you get all your **** installed. Good luck man!

with lt's lid filter and no tune with a SES light, and only a right bank o2 sensor i dyno'd 332hp and around 335-340tq, now i got a ls6 intake mani and 28lbers still untuned. I do need a tune though.

The only real issue with having the code is that your SES light will be on due to a flase reading, so if you actually do have a problem you wouldn't know it (by the light, that is).

Aside from that O2 sims are now illegal and you'll have a tough time finding them if you don't already have them in your possession.

Bingo, thats the thing to worry about. Its like the boy who cried wolf story. If all of sudden you are getting misfires or something worse your light won't be able to tell you.

If the light is on and you throw another code, the light will blink for quite awhile.
