Are you sure you've tried all the different angles? Have you tried to put the header in totally straight up (collector perpendicular to the ground? Maybe if you pull the starter?

He's right, most will slide right in them (with a little english...a 2x4 to pry it up w/helps. it's soft enough to not scratch anything & strong enough to move the motor up enough.)

You'll probably have to cut the casting tab off the block. It's not that hard with sawzall. I never tried loosening the motor mounts...maybe try that first.

I remember having to stack a 1x1' chunk ontop of the jack to get it up high enough. You gotta get that thing waaaay up in the air. like almost unsafe altitudes. haha

I have the 1-7/8" AR headers also and my pass side was a pain in the *** to get in!!! I finally took a break and when I came back I realized I could slide it in except that pipe running on the inside was hitting the tab on the bell housing (T-56). Now what I should have done was waited until I had time to drop the tranny and bellhousing, able to get a lift, or cut the tab off, but instead I was getting pissed and anxious so I took a hammer to that pipe and dented it enough to get past that tab It was still tight but with some muscle it popped in.

Be forwarned though, there's a wire bundle running straight up and down on the pass fenderwell and when the tubes are in it rests right on that connector. There's no room to move it once the tubes are bolted in so mock it up to see if it'll hit. If it does leave the header loose so you can reroute those wires.

I forgot about that. Good advice!!! I had to reroute those wires as well. I seem to remember just taking that plastic connector completely out. It was resting up against the header.
