160 stat
the cooling system on these cars works very well. you can hotlap and dyno these cars many times over and it's just hard to get them to overheat even with the stock tstat.

go expecting it to solve anything. Radiator core and
airflow (fans, obstruction and crud) are your limitations.
The thermostat gets done because it's cheap, not
because it's effective on a low-mods setup.
So i am guessing there is some type of reason he wants it in there, and they must do something because many people have them on this board.
granted some of that is holdover from older engine styles.
but i think having the chance to get the coolant temps a 20* lower is a good thing.
other option instead of tuning for the fans is a fan switch...
on the t-stat causing you to burn more fuel. I have a 160 t-stat. I can't really say if it lowered my engine temps, due to the dummy temp gauge, but there was no negative effects.
remember if you do get one to have your fans set to turn on earlier that or and have a manual fan switch .
so exactly how would a tstat that doesn't open to coolant flow till 160* have any affect on the "warm up" of an engine....compared to a stat that opens at 195?
