I have the Loudmouth on my T/A and don't like it... and the ground clearance on it sucks *** bigtime.

My vote goes to the combination of the GMMG chambered exhaust and LTs. I have the GMMG + Kooks combination also, and it sounds freakin incredible, louder than hell outside and comfortably quiet inside of the car.

“Best” is subjective. Only you can figure out is “best” for your wants/needs. I do not even know if my exhaust setup is “best” for me. I like it enough that I plan on keeping it. I have H/C with QTP 1-3/4” headers. The rest of the exhaust is a customized Bassani stainless dual system with Magnaflow 3” metallic substrate cats spliced in.

I got alot of compliments with the Loudmouth 1 on the stock exhaust. More than one said it sounds sexy. A friend has the same catback with SLP LT's. I'm not sure if he's running cats. I hear him a block away when he starts his 2000 SS. It has alot of rasp to it. I went with Magaflow with my current setup - QTP LT's, QTP ORY w/cutouts. It has more of a bass rumble than the LM1.

My LT1 sounds downright sexy with the LM2. I'll get a sound clip when I get a chance.

I don't know if this helps, but here is a clip of my old setup - the LM1 on stock manifolds and stock Catted Y.

Does anyone who lives in a city think the LM or GMMG setups are too loud? NYC has pretty strict noise rules because the sound reverberates off the buildings. I like the sounds of both LM and GMMG, but I'm afraid it would be too loud and I'd get ticketed. I would only get an exhaust. Stock headers and cats.

FWIW, here's my GMMG with catted Y, powerpack in the I, & hooker resonator tips. It's not too loud, but has a nice deep tone.

i dont care what anybody says, open headers is the best sounding. It may not be the most desireable, but it is the best "sounding".

LTs /Catted Y/ GMMG and H/C is where it's at. I have some GMMG clips in my sig. None with the H/C except on the dyno. But there are clips from stock manifolds/cat to when I got LTs to the H/C pull. I've loved every new sound from the GMMG since the stock configuration to now. It only gets better.

I have the Borla catback and I love it, it has a distinctive sound, especially with my cam. My vote would be Borla, GMMG, SLP. It comes down to all personal taste, likes/dislikes and such.

Go out to local spots or to your local drag strip ask around, see what others guys have, hear the different sounds and find what you like, thats what I did and I couldnt of been happier with what I chose.

Good luck with your decision.

In my honest opinion the Borla sounds like what the SLP should sound like. Just my opinion, maybe strong words but its just my opinion.

Exhaust sounds are all preference, some are going to vary in power as well as price. Its all relative really.

Even a stock LT1 sounds sexy, unlike an LS1.

I used to have a 95 T/A 6spd vert, it had a Flowmaster Muffler on it when I bought it, and I deleted the cat....nothing was like dropping the top, rowing through the gears and hearing that burble right behind my ears...would make your spine tingle.

that loud pop almost bang is your DFCO (deceleration fuel cut off), when the computer senses heavy deceleration it cuts the fuel a bit and makes a loud bang.
