What are the two black nippels for? Is it the other connection on the T/B and on the valve cover.

They are if you do the breather mod. You would cap off the OEM fresh air tube on the TB & the frnt pass side valve cover.

Here is a bit of a description of the cans function:

The LS based motors have a PCV system that at best is pretty ineffective. This allows oil mist to enter the intake manifold causing undue carbon buildup on the piston tops & valve surfaces & detonation from the contaminated air charge. The catch can goes in-line in your OEM system and due to its design & surface area, condenses these vapors & mist to droplets that then fall to the bottom of the can so only the water vapors, unburnt fuel, & combustion blow-by gasses enter as designed. The result? Little or no oil contamination in the intake air charge & more consistant power & fuel economy. Just take off your throttle body sometime & reach a finger into the intake manifold snout and see how much oil is on your finger. Should be zero.

What makes the RevXtreme catch can work so well? The design. It is a full one quart capacity (anything less is not as effective due to the surface area cooling needed for the vapors & mist to condense efficiently, and the perforated down tube that evenly disperses the vapors to contact as much surface area as possible.

What colors do they come in? Your web site doesn't give an option for color. Is that mini breather filer K&N? How do you know when its full? Ever thought of adding a sight glass to it? I imagine the wing nut is to drain... sorry for all the questions...

Any color you want...just add $25 for the powder coating.

Mini breather is optional and is generic. No sight glass....trying to keep the price low & that would add. The capacity is 1 qt so it should only need to be emptied every few months. Yes that's the drain. The latest version of the can comes with a PCV valve integrated into it to avoid confusion. This will add $4 to the cost beginning May 1.

The can is designed to be as functional as possible & still keep the cost below $100. To order call direct to JP 941-753-5255 or PayPal Sales@RevXtreme.com $69 for the can in bright aluminum, add $25 for powder coat any color, add $12 for the breather (or $19 for a new cap w/breather already bonded to it) and $15 S&H to the lower 48.

Power gain from it? Or is this basically a save your engine long term mod?

minimal power gain, more like power recovery. it keeps oil from entering the intake.

Diggin' the flying sidekick and dead bricks pics!

Seriously, Tracey's catch can kit is a very nice product - very happy with mine. It's a little tricky to install, not b/c of the product, but because GM saw fit to run different tubes and valves different routes all over different models! A minute or five of thought (depending on BAC) and looking at pics is all it takes. Well worth it to keep the intake cleaner!

i think i forgot to ask this before; how ofetn should you emprty the can? my car is driven between April and mid-late Nov. I guesstimate NO MORE then 6K miles a yr and that might be on the high side. Guaranteed 1 oil change tho.

do you check it after EVERY 3k miles?
