Default New Weiand intake this summer Street Warrior??

On pg 66 of the June 08 Chevy High Performance mag, it says that this summer Weiand is coming out with a new version of their Street Warrior Lsx intake that will show 32 HP and 31 lb-ft over an ls6 intake!! Anyone know anymore about this? Seen any pics yet?

Im holding out for one of those intakes if there under $500. Im sure they are hyping it up with those numbers though. That would mean 40hp over a ls1 intake, I dont think so...

There was a long thread about this. It was originally suppose to come out around March, but I guess that got changed. I believe it shows good gains, but falls off after 6300 or somewhere in that area. Search, there is some decent info on it.

Yeah I just saw it in the mag and was thinking it would be too good to be true. I like my ls6 intake just fine, and I didn't want to kick out like 800 bucks for a FAST. If they are around the 500 dollar range I will probably snag one.

Ya, ls6 is a pretty good intake for a lot of applications though. I guess we wont know until there is some actual proof.

My LS6 is doing well...but Im waiting to see what kind of power this makes and where it makes it. I have seen that it is better than the FAST down low but worse up top making it more of a street manifold. I will be shifting around 6500rpm afetr my h/c swap so I need to see which will suite me better.

+1 on the price, it needs to be lower. That could be the deal maker/breaker between the two for me.

i got above 6300 alot.. hah, I do remember thoo the in the comparison it was the weind vs the fast 90/90. I would love to see it against a fully ported 92/92 combo.

Yah when this intake comes out hopefully the prices on ls6 intakes drop down to earth... $300-400 is way to much money for a ls6 IMO.

I would not mind changing cams and swapping over to this intake. I would like to try a low revving setup that would have a lot of low end torque.

I wonder who will actually get the manifold to the market first, Wieand or Trick Flow, being they are in to testing a new manifold.

I think the Weiand was a little bit ahead of the trickflow last time I checked. It'll be nice when the TFS intake comes out since they will most likely have a H/C/I package just like they do on the 5.0s which will make it convenient
