Default Help! Hooker 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 Headers???

I've had these hooker 1 3/4 headers for a about 4 years now and I was recently told that I should sell them and either get some newer style 1 3/4 headers(Pacesetters, Hookers, etc) or get some 1 7/8" headers. I have a stock cubic inch bolt on, Futral F11 Cam and I am spraying a 100 shot(might do 150 occasionally). My car is a M6 and I am putting down 388 to the rear wheels. I plan on eventually getting some trick flow heads but should I selll my Hooker's or keep them. Also, is 388 rwhp on motor a descent # for a bolt on cammed ( 228"/230" .576"/.595" 112LSA) 2000 WS6. I was told years ago when i bought these headers that 1 7/8" were for bigger cubes blocks. Does anyone have any recommendations?

you're fine. When you get 500+ rwhp, step up to the 1 7/8.

Save your $. The 1-3/4s are MORE than fine for what you're working with currently.

As said, you are good for now. I would save the cash and look into doing the headers when you decide to throw a set of heads on it. And yes, 388 to the wheels is pretty respectable!

I still think since you are supercharged you could benefit from 1-7/8. Maybe not as much as the higher hp motors but I still think it would help you. TSP has new ones available as well

Apparently this isn't on his supercharged setup. He said cam/n2o.
