Default getting egr tuned out

i don't have tuning software and nobody (and i mean NOBODY) around here has anything that is ls1 compatible (hp tuners, ls1 edit etc). all of the sponsors offer unecessary (for my application) options and high prices for their mail order tunes...all i want is to have my fan temps lowered an egr deleted.

can any of you help???

just get a fan switch, I picked mine up for $35. The egr code won't hurt so hold off till you need a tune to get it deleted.

well just delete the codes before going in to do the test. Good for enough time to pass the test I'd think. Good luck,

The only problem with this is that some states will not test a car if it has not completed all of its system checks. Once you reset your codes it also resets all the system diagnostics and your motor has to do so many engine revolutions before all those systems come back up as ready which means they are good. I know in Maryland their OBDII testers are able to tell if the codes were just cleared because it checks to see if those diagnostic systems have completed their tests or not. If they have not then they will tell you to go drive the car around for a bit and come back. Once the systems complete their checks the SES light will come back on. Not sure if Delaware is like that or not but just something to watch for.

unless the egr is deleted the computer stores the code for 40 start cylces after it last gets triggered...the only way is to have the egr completely tuned out.
