Default Headers and y pipe???

hey everyone? Im relatively new to the world of LS1. Im getting ready to invest in headers and exhaust. I know that SLP makes the best fitting parts for the 4th gen. Is it really worth saving up the 1000+ dollars that slp headers cost or is there another setup thats just as good and cheaper...i.e. pacesetter??? and will bolt up just as easy!

bolting up headers is easy...what makes you think slp makes the best fitting headers?...honestly they dont fit that well...they hang to low...kooks, pacesetter, QTP...make great headers...put in some work and research them...

As already mentioned, do some research on here fo awhile before buying, there is a lot of info. Saving up for a good header is worth it in my opinion. But dont limit yourself to SLP. There old design is not that great; its hard to install, and hangs really low. Personally i can speak for ARH; these headers fit like a glove, and are really easy to install. But there is a lot of good headers for the ls1, just do some searches.

SLP is supposed to have an updated design that fits much better, but I have yet to see or read about a set on car. You pay for it, but I would do the ARHs or Kooks for quality, fit and finish. I have QTPs and they are nice as well. While my set is fine, some others have had issues with their primaries leaking at the merge collector and QTPs lack of customer service is a real turn-off. I would not give them my money again if I was to do it all over.

does it come with all of the emission connections also...Ive been researching for a while now but they really dont go into detail about the headers. Ive heard good things about pacesetter, I had them for my 3.8L and the were great, and like you said they never discolored.

it's all there in the first page man. it's up to you and whether u have emissions in ur state if u want the headers with emissions or not. the most popular are pacesetters, kooks, qtp, and ARH. and all these are pretty easy to install.
