Default 3" True Duals + G2 Super Springs = no ground clearance

Yeah, much to my dismay this combo is not for the faint of heart. I have Edelbrock LT's, Dr. Gas X, bullets and dumps. We only got the reducers on and got the front part of the X-pipe to where it gave the most ground clearance. Then we ran out of gas to weld.
The guy that's doing it is by far one of the best, if not the best welders I've ever seen. He has the X tucked up as tight as we can get it and the thing is still only inches off the ground. We should have the rest finished by the weekend.
Sound? Wow, it's loud right now. But, it's only running from the headers into the front of the x and dumping right after. I can't honestly see it getting a whole lot quieter but this car is not a daily driver. I have a good feeling that it's gonna be a brutally deep aggressive sound, which I HOPE is true. As soon as we get it finished I'll post pics because it truly is a piece of art.

Once you put the bullets on it will get a little quieter and have a much better sound.

Are you using 12" or 18" bullets by the way?

It will still be very deep and agressive either way though.

this is why I went 2.5".....no problem with ground clearance and I have my G2 coilovers set even lower than the G2 Super Springs have you sitting....

I thought about going with 2.5" but the collectors on the headers is 3.5" and I already reduced it back down to 3" to fit the X. I didn't want to reduce it again. Also, I don't know that 1/2" would help this cause.

1 3/4" primaries stepped to 1 7/8 with a slip-on adjustable collector. 3.5" at the end of the collector.

This year the goal was 400rwhp. I put down 388 on a Mustang Dyno with the following problems:
Granatelli MAF wouldn't let them get a perfect A/F ratio
SLP LT's (need I say more) and cats
Volant Intake
and finally, they kept my timing a little lower but Lou said I could throw another 2 degrees at it and be fine.

Now with this new setup and a re-tune, I'm expecting a nice shot over 400rwhp. I don't think I'm expecting too much at all based on the changes I made to eliminate restrictions and problems.

Also, next year I'm doing heads and probably a bottle so I should have the capacity for that growth. Stay tuned! (literally)

Damn that's a huge *** collector on those headers. I didn't realize they were so large.

FWIW, you generally want to match x size with collector size for performance. Make no mistake, Bullets are still going to be loud as hell, but they do sound good... until you go deaf. Twisters work very well in that application as well and are much quieter. Well it's safe to say you have plenty of exhaust capacity.
