I'm pretty sure I'm getting this cam Comp Cams Extreme XE-R, 232/234 duration with .595/.598 lift and 112 LS. which is the same as or is the torquer v2. just wondering if I should buy the pushrods, ls6 pump, ls2 chain, prc dual springs and the gasket kit all in one shot or one or two parts at a time to ease the cost pain. Gotta be in by the end of june for sure. Am I missing anything?

I have a so called "small" cam, spec'd by PatG.

224/228 111+0, .609/.588 XFI/XE-R.

I have an M6 with 3.83 IRS, and all the bolt-on's, less EWP. Currently stock 243's.

I dyno'd to 6400, and it was still pulling (should have gone up to 6700). 412 rwhp / 385 rwtq on a stingy mustang dyno (this mustang reads about 24 hp lower than another local mustang).

I still have good TQ down low, and pulls good up top to. On the 111, it has a nice lope, and sounds mean (but not over the top). I had it spec'd to work now with my 243's, eventually changing to AFR 205's, further down the road. Also I had it spec'd to work best on the street, and an occasional run (about 4 weekends a year) on the road course.

My car has 70k miles, and is running really strong. Raced my budies SRT-10 Viper the other day 70-135, dead nuts even (his car is stock). Not bad for a 4000lbs pig.

Good luck on your selection. You are gonna love it whatever you decide.

I'm not sure who Patrick G is but I've seen him on this board a LOT. He's a sponsor and his screen name is "Patrick G" lol. If you haven't noticed yet sponsor's names appear orange as members are blue. And almost every sponsor has their banner and link in their sig. as 99blancoSS has in his sig, "NastyPerformance". His banner is his link to his site.

The "split" cams are actually called "reverse split". Meaning the the intake duration is typically longer then the exhaust duration, the durations are just reversed from traditional cams. I don't know a lot about them so I won't throw you bullshit facts, but from what I heard they work well mostly on a really free flowing exhaust, I mean everything, headers back, with a non-flowing stock intake. I have one in my car, can't remember the specs off the top of my head. And though it gave my car decent numbers, I wished I would have gotten a typical cam.

Guys on this board can throw you cam specs that they're running left and right and say they love them and it's the best. Which is great, but it may not be the best for you. Listen to these guys though, if a cam sucks it sucks lol, but the second best way to see if something works is to see if someone else uses it. But your final decision shouldn't be made til you talk to a pro like the guys at comp cams, lunati, etc. etc. etc.

Pat G is part of Thunder Racing I believe, but does his own custom stuff. I had the option when talking with TR to talk to him, but i went with the TR 230.

I have the TSP 228R. Made 400rwhp and 375rwtq and has run a best of 11.74 @ 115 at a 3650lb. race weight. Cam has very good street manners as well.

Get Patrick G to spec you out one. That was my first thought when I started reading this and the other people who have said that are all right. Send him a PM. Look him up on the members list and PM him. It's worth every penny for him to get you the right cam to optimize your setup. After I get a new intake and LT's, I'm going to get him to spec me out one. The bigger cam doesn't always mean a faster car. As he told me, he has speced out cams for people who have beat other F-body's with much bigger cams. Look him up and get it done right.

Talk to PatG you won't go wrong with that. The TR230 was his idea over 6 years ago. If that tells you anything.
