You can tap that piece right above the oil filter and mount your sender there. I've seen some people use a 12" line and mount the sender on the frame rail too. The Autometer sender is HUGE, but you shouldn't need the line option. I've read that it will fit even with longtube headers. Maybe somebody who has one will chime in. I'd tap that thing first and try mounting the sender right into it.

Or, you can get a T fitting and do some fancy work with the factory pressure sender behind the intake which some people do, but I'd stick with option 1 IMO.

You'll have to run a wire, yes, but not a braided line. The braided line will only move the honking *** sender away from the headers by a foot. You will have to run the wire from the sender into the cabin and connect it to the pillar gauge. You can either drill a new hole on the drivers side or go through the existing grommet behind the PCM.

So you've got mechanical gauges, and not electric. Electric gauges use sending units mounted in the various fluid (water, oil, fuel) to monitor pressures and levels and sends a signal back across a 16 gauge wire to the gauge. Mechanical gauges have a line in direct contact with the fluid itself all the way to the gauge. Most people use the electric gauges.

If you can ... Return the mecanical guage and get electric instead..it will be much easier to install and live with ... as in no leaks ..

Oil lines inside the cabin are a no no with NHRA and other racing organizations. I think Autometer makes a diaphram interface but not worth it to me.

There is a small manifold just above the oil filter, held onto the block by 2 bolts. You remove it drill a hole in it and then tap it so you can screw the oil pressure sender into it.

thats where i tapped my mechanical oil pressure guage too. its really simple took me maybe a half hour to install and ran the line in the cabin and i have not leaked any oil what so ever just make sure you use a lot of sealent. it sucks when you start getting oil leaks inside the car! i ran my line through a self drilled hole that i drilled so i could bleed the slave by myself and then just covered it with a groumet. good luck!
