BBK SSI intake mani?? I have a 99 Z28, and I'm about to buy an intake manifold. What experiences have ya'll had with the BBK SSI intake manifold? I was looking at the FAST 90/90 one but it's so damn expensive.. The BBK according to Jegs makes 12-15whp on a Z06 and 18-24whp on a base LS1 car.. Do those gains include other parts like bigger throttle bodies, etc? Any downsides about the bbk or reasons why the FAST is really worth 800-900? Thanks!
from the dyno tests in the book 'dyno proven ls1 and ls7' the ssi showed a lot better low and mid range, but not close to the amount of top end as the fast 90. still looked like a healthy gain

so if I planned on keeping a stock bottom end for now, getting a cam and a custom tune, would you guys recommend the bbk? I mean, if it peaks at 5800, is that going to hurt me with a minor setup like I'm going with? I want to hit 400+whp all motor. It seems like a pretty stout gain for under $500.
hello, i also have the book (advertisement) dyno proven performance. the bbk is 85mm with 85mm TB if my memory is correct. i could fax you the pg if you pm me a fax #. my book is at home of coarse. (im at work SSSSHH dont tell the boss!). i have the ls6 intake w 80mm TB. because i dont rev over 6k rpms.

you lost me man..why would i need a fax for the ad? I can read the ad all day at Jegs.com or summitracing lol. I just want to know if people recommend it for a 400whp n/a setup, or if the FAST is substantially better for MY setup. Thanks.
im running the BBK on my s10. havent had it dyno tuned yet but it seems to be working fine. i liked it because it used the factory o-ring style intake seals vs a gasket. been happy so far, especially for the price difference between the bbk ssi and the FAST
I bought mine used from a member here and am very happy with it. That being said the guy I got it from replaced it with a fast 90 set up. It looks great and i took off the cover and knocked 90% of the casting flash off. For the price you can't go wrong and what I wanted was something that could stand up to a nitrous back fire.
