Default throttle body paper weight

well when i was deployed earlier in the year i ordered a NX 85 mm throttle body for my car. well when i got home i installed it and the damn thing wouldnt idle under 800 rpm i know it said to allow the IAC to adjust but i drove it for like 300 miles like that and it wouldnt adjust. So what should i do?

why do folks go with a 85mm TB?????

If your intake isnt 85 (and if its a LS1/LS6 intake, its not) then you get no gains, and its so easy/cheap to make the stocker a more powerful unit,,

did you ever think he will see the benefits of that 85mm tb in the future when he further modifies his car.

damn, yeah that sucks. Did you reset your PCM? disconnect the battery and turn the key "ON" and leave it for about ten minutes to drain any juice left in any capacitors. Then reconnect, turn on the AC to max and your IAC should relearn.

Well...here's the problem. The LS1/LS6 intake is a 75-ish mm opening. When you stick an 85mm throttle body on there, that opening magically opens up to...wait for it...75mm.

So say he upgrades to a FAST 90mm intake in the future. That throttle body will now no longer work because the FAST 90 uses a 4-bolt pattern, not a 3-bolt pattern.

The only other option would be to use one of the all aluminum intakes out there, and those have never proven to be worth anything over a standard LS6.

So no. He would never see the benefit of the 85mm throttle body, even in the future.

As for the idle problem...is there a hole in the blade? Also...what does the path to the IAC stepper motor look like (restricted a lot)?

Why not sell the 85mm throttle body and get a good ported stock throttle body. It will perform better and it's cheaper. I port them as well as others.
