^ thats what I did. I was able to find the SLP Cold Air piece on ebay for $60 shipped and then picked up a new FTRA Upgrade Kit from a LS1Tech member for $50 shipped. If you aren't in a hurry, try to find a deal first, if you don't then order new.

So evidently you guys arent to fond of the FTRA which is cool, What about the volant intake would it work for a NON ws6 car? And what would you guys recommend for a CAI? I'm not really a newbie to modding but the never ending array of CAI's and RAM AIR kits makes me dizzy LOL. My local pontiac dealer has advance auto parts tax id # so I can get whatever I want for cost.

No, I like the FTRA. Thats what I basically have.
SLP Cold Air (used) + Fast Toys Upgrade Kit (used/nib) = FTRA (but at a better price)

I just like buying things that don't wear out used, you get all the performance but with extra money in the pocket.

I'm gonna get the Volant... but I have a WS.6

The FTRA is a nice piece... if you have the money and don't feel like making one yourself I say go for it... it's been proven it works

I don't have one so I'm not biased and that's my honest opinion... I live in Phoenix so my car running a little hotter because of the kit blocking the radiator is a no no for me... but you will probably be fine...

It looks like the volant setup is directly for the ws6 So basically my only option is
lets say k&n and the like.

The FTRA will work with any lid. It does not come with a filter but you can reuse your stock one or purchase one of our reusable high flow filters.

We also sell the JAAM WS6 kit specifically for WS6 cars which may be a good option for you if you want to keep the functionality of your hood. You can few both these products on our web site.

Thanks!

i think i'm going to sell my K&N cold air kit and get a FTP 85mm lid and the FTRA kit. and just so you know, the FTRA doesn't work with the volant or K&N, just with lids.

Fast toys, does your lid work well in conjunction with the FTRA, I've got it and my SLP lid seems to be off and I've have to tape it on the sides to seal the lid completely (Assuming it's installed it correctly). So hoping your lid will fit better?

SLP lids don't fit worth a crap. Your lid fastens to your stock air box not to the ram air. The FTRA fits flush under your airbox and you seal your airlid on top of it. I got to buy something else from Fast Toys so I can catch up on the local news. I kept the last packing material.
