I assume you just installed longtubes. If so you'll be in need of a tune for maximizing longtubes. Just get the codes deleted when you get tuned.

If you go back through and they are still in the PCM after a tune. Pull the negative on the battery for 3 hours and just let it sit. the codes will be erased from the memory in the PCM that way. You will have to put about 50-75 miles on the car before emissioned are passed ok by the PCM with this route. This allows the PCM to relearn itself. It takes about that milage maybe less for the PCM to say the AIR/EGR/O2s are good. No biggie. And that is if you show up after a tune and the codes are still being stored by the PCM. You could tell the tuner about it and will probably rid them for you. And when your tuned, resetting the PCM in this manner will not effect your tune at all if you didn't know. If some one tells you to touch the positive and negative cables to flash your PCM, cuss them out. That is not the way to discharge a capacitor, lol.

Have you tried resetting the PCM? That's what I had to do for mine.

im having the same problem. Picked up some sims, threw em in, cleared the code and it came back in like 20 miles. switched sides and saw no difference. I need to figure something out because im not spending the money to get it tuned until i do my cam and heads. This sucks mostly because its running so rich your eyes water and throat starts to burn if you stand behind the car too long and im getting HORRIBLE gas mileage.

If I were you I would get it tuned and the get the 02's to deleted. My buddie had the same problem on his vett even after the tune until, he went back to get them deleted and now the light never comes back on. Here is your options 1 get it tune and spend the money now to get it right. or 2 wait and don't drive the car till you get cam and heads.

So the rich smell and gas mileage doesn't give a hint?

Hint - get it tuned. those codes are 'cause it isn't running right.

what code is it throwing? since you have o2 sims i'll assume its the "hi voltage bank 2" on both sides. your best bet is to tune out you rear o2s and be done with them.

if you're running a catless exhaust the excesive gas smell is gonna be there. bottom line is you need a tune.

battery, need to clear the memory. If that doesn't do it, you may have screwed up one of your primary 02's. Wich bank is the code giving?
