Question EGR/AIR Removal Question

Thinking about removing these and want to know if anyone has had problems with how the engine performs (sluggish, etc). I know it will throw a SES light and they will be tuned out later. Want to clean up engine. Thanks

I had mine removed when I had the headers put in and it did not affect performance at all. I do have the SES light on but it will be tuned out later without a problem. Dont forget to order the plug for the EGR hole when you do it though.

No issues except it threw a code that you already know about. I programmed it out. I originally used block off plates until I got new headers.

I just found GM has a plug made for the intake for about $12. Think its part #12558346. Might try that also. Thanks

I hear there is no affect on performance but what about the gas milege?
Does the gas milege go down?Just wondering
I hear if you tune the car not only does the tune delete the code out the fuel specs are fixed ......so the gas milege will be fixed.
So with no tune I'm assuming the gas milege goes down

I personally didn't see anything significant as far as mileage going down after I had mine removed. I still get my 250 miles to school on less than 3/4 of a tank (all highway) which would equal out to better than 26.6666 miles per gallon which is right about what I was getting before the removal and install of headers.

If it did go down I'm sure you could run a conservative tune to get even more mileage if you really wanted to.

My engine idles at the same RPM as before. The only "problem" is that the RPMs will drop very low at points to less than 500 causing the engine to kind of stumble. This is only while not moving such as when sitting at a light. It is not all the time either, just every once in a while. The car has never stalled out or anything like that and I figure this will go away as soon as I get the car tuned.
