The stall will definately knock the most off of your ET's

Stall will do the most but not a TCI 3000 stall though. I'd get a higher stall than 3000 if you want to really get the car moving.

I still want to keep it streetable, i don't plan on a cam. The only other mods would be the lt, intake and maybe a pulley. would a 3200 be too mild if i went yank or vigilante? How much will this help me off the line?

I'd at least get a Vig 3200 or Yank 3400. It will help a ton off the line though.. If you are worried about drivability LTs would be a better deal but will still not net as much as a good stall with sticky tires.

Search the Tranny section and you will see TCI has a history of clutch failure that takes the whole tranny out. Agreed on the stall for ET reduction and do a cooler and shift kit at the same time.

I have a TCI 3500 SSF converter and it is perfectly fine DD, the car is my DD and my wife and her 16year old sister drive it with no problems...

With a converter/seat time/good tires you will see great improvements on ET's and 60ft's but you MPH will suffer a lil bit

I suggest not going any lower than a 3500 or there isnt much point in spending the money on a converter...as far as brands Yank and Vig are the most popular brands..i have had no issues out of my TCI in 2 years though and numerous racing/launches and DD

Definately get a Tranny Cooler and a deeper oil pan is a good idea too

I've got no complaints about my TCI 3500. But I'd have gone for a vig3200 if I had it to do over again.

def get atleast a 3500. Don't pay a shop to do it, its really not that difficult to do. Me and my dad did mine yesterday in our garage with just hand tools, car ramps, and a floor jack.

3200 edge stall, really wakes the car up. you can go without a tune after the stall but i did one and its way better after the tune as far as driveability. agreed you should look into a stall with a proven rep. install it yourself if possible.

I have the lock-up set at 45, anytime after that and not WOT, the car drives like a stock converter. The car drives from Chicago to Detroit often getting 27-29 mpg. Dirve it to the track 1.5 hours away, race it and drive it home. It took a little getting used to at first, but that is with a 2.73 gear. I put a 3.42 in it and it is soooooooooooo much better. With your 3.73, I bet it's not too far off from stock.

Also, I did a cooler, deep pan, and TCI flywheel at the same time. Spend the extra little money and get the yank or vig and the cooler/pan/flywheel (optional).

I have researched the **** out of this and will use my own opinion, you will not be dissapointed.

I had a TCI 3000 and moved up to a Yank 3600. The difference isn't huge. The TCI was a little bit better DD, and the Yank may give more at the track (if this track will get prepped enough for me to hook) ... but the difference between stock and the 3000 was far greater than the diff btw 3000 and 3600.

Get a Transgo shift kit installed while the tranny's out for the converter change. That's a must if you want that converter to live.
