Bassani true duals 02 formula install
Anyone out there with this system, please take a look at this post.
So me and my buddy installed this system a few days ago and ran into a few issues. I laid out the system before installation and was only confused by the pipes which extend from the back of the x-pipe. One is a bit longer, but both fit into the muffler inlets. The instructions at this point only say to follow the pictures, and no pipes have any #'s for referance. Take a look at these pictures, as I think the under panhard pipe is way too low. The muffler is pointed upwards as well????
Could I have those pipes mixed up? I am also getting loud banging on small bumps and it seems if something is rubbing the pipes while driving. I need to get it in the air again to see where the banging is, and do some readjusting.
Also of note, is we had to enlarge the flange hole on the passenger side cat connection, as the bassani pipe was too small to accept the factory bolts This connection also leaked on initial start up, which required some banging of the flange.....
So, any advice will be appreciated. I expected a better fitment for such an expensive system, but there is also not supposed to be duals under there either.
What a sound this system has though! It's worth the price for that alone.....
Thanks, Dan

That is just wrong...lol. Looks as though someone didn't do their research. This is what it's supposed to look like. Check out this link for more pics of it done right.

I believe I have the x-pipe extension pipes mixed up. I'm sick of messing with it, so I dropped it off at an exhaust shop tonite. I'll update it tomorrow, hopefully everything will be good.
Thanks for that first pic. Now I really know its messed up....
And i'll say it one more time, Damn does it sound good.

I've never heard this setup in person but it does look like a high quality piece. I'm curious why you didn't use the extra piping to bring the tip back to the passenger side bumper to fill that hole rather than running both exits on the same side. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get it figured out.

Just wanted something different and sleeper-ish. I was inspired by the old SLP "two on the left" firehawk/ss exhaust and the 98 ws6's single tip outlet. Eventually I want to clone it into a 98 ws6 formula, but with a few subtle differences.
Bassani made to order my two on the left, as it has it's own system #.

I've been looking at that same exhaust system. What did you have for an exhaust before? Think you could post up sound clips? All the ones I've heard of that system kinda suck. Also where did you purchase it from? Thanks

Update
All is well now. I brought it to a good exhaust shop and no more issues. Just need to get some tips, as the bassani ones aren't the ones I want. I had the system all out of line, and that screwed up everything.
Turns out the only adjustments needed were on the ext. pipes from the x pipe. They were welded to the x and cut a bit at the other end.
We also stripped a hole in the crossbrace mount, so that is not on. Is that piece even required to be there? Looks pretty flimsy.
Now that this is on correctly, I'm pretty impressed on the quality and sound/power level. I have yet to take it above 4k, but so far so good. I'll get some final pictures up and possibly a sound clip. I don't have the car tonite and I only have a digital camera for videos, so the quality is not great. It's got that mustang sound to it, but a different and deeper tone, if that makes any sense. No rasp or popping on deceleration either.
I can't stand driving these cars quietly, so all is well in the world. Thanks for your help and goodnite.
