Default Header Help

Hello guys. Im looking into changing my stock headers on my 2000 Trans am, to some pacesetter Lt's and gonna get an off road y-pipe put on, but I have ran into a couple problems. No garage will take off my cats for me so I do not know how to go about doing this. I really dont think im capable of doing this myself. And other question..When putting a ory on I will be getting a service engine soon light right? And how will i get this to turn off, a tune?

yes and yes. The install itself is not too technical is pretty much elbow grease. With a friend to help you out and at least one full day available for the install will make things happen.

Does anything need to come off in order to change the headers?

yes it will set the SES light off, a tune will remedy that, as there will be some 02 codes among other things that you are removing.

I'd seriously look into doing it yourself. Do you want to learn? Do you have the proper tools? A pair of tall jackstands? Read up on a few header install writeups, look at your car so you know where and what you need to do for every step. It's not difficult at all, just a little time consuming and be prepared for some torn up hands and forearms. You'll save yourself a lot of money too.
