Default egr block off plate

im wanting to install my ls6 intake tomorrow, but i havent ordered an egr block off plate yet. can i close it up with something else, and then take it to my exhaust guy and get it welded shut? i saw one guy on here who closed it off with the egr tube and a penny......any one have any other ideas, or should i order the plate and just wait to install?

Are you talking about a plate for the header??? No hardware stores around you? Dont have a drill? We talking about drilling two holes into a peice of flat stock and maybe using some gasket paper and thats it. Simple as simple can get.

I took the tube out and welded the hole up of the original. Same with the AIR, but the tubes had to be cut off.

Ya know....LOL after I used a block off plate on mine the tube eventually broke off and had to be welded. All that un-supported weight and vibration broke it off in front of the weld.

What tube broke? On your headers? That freakin sucks!

I was talking about the plates that bolt the Air and EGR pipes to the factory manifolds. The EGR pipe turns freely in it's plate and so I just bent up the pipe and pulled the plate off. Now I have a block off plate with a hole in it. Welding the hole in and grinding it flat finished the job before I bolted it right back on. The plates that hold the AIR pipes to the manifolds are apparently welded to the AIR systems pipes and so I just cut those pipes off and welded the holes closed on the plates.

The only reason I did all that was because I'm still running factory exhaust and there isn't a point in spending the $$ on plates when I plan to eventually get race LT headers.
