Default Installed LS6 manifold, tach dies

Hi all, installed an LS6 intake manifold and drove the car for the first time today. Tach comes up off the resting pin but doesn't move any higher. My Raptor shift light still works, spliced onto the green PCM wire.

Any ideas?

Yup nothing was left disconnected, if I knew I wouldn't leave it that way. Only thing I can think to do is disconnect the batt for a few minutes.

Otherwise the car runs great.

Check your grounds and loose connections.. most electrical problem are grounding related.. won't hurt to check...

There are two ground wires at the back of the driver's side cylinder head. Reach back there, grab the wires and see if they're loose. Otherwise, possibly a bad connection on the wiring.

Those are my guesses.

Well, he wouldnt have needed to mess with those cylinder head grounds to install the manifold....and it doesnt look like the heads have been off according to the mods in his sig. I agree though, check all grounds. There are several under the hood

Heads have not been off (yet!). I will check the grounds after I reset the PCM.

Assuming the afternoon heat doesn't 'fix' things on the way home today.

When I got home I let the car run and I wiggled all the wire bundles and grounds I could reach, checked that all weatherpaks were tight, etc. Disconnected IAT/IAC/MAF/TPS and reconnected. No change.

I'm reading about people having trouble with CPS (cam pos sensor) wires. I know I plugged it back in, and it should only go one way, but maybe a pin came loose. Dammit I'm going to have to pull the intake again aren't I?

Fixed it. Somehow I left a connector unplugged. I swear I remember getting that specific one in. It must not have clicked and the reinstall process backed it out.

What a bear to get back there with the manifold still installed. Took 20 minutes of serious feats of flexibility, dexterity and plain old pain tolerance. Whew!
