to cut the egr tube or not cut the egr tube...
ok well i made a post about taking out the EGR i heard a lot of good reasons for taking it out and also for leaving it in so i decided ill just leave it in there unless i decide to go LS6 intake.
now i want to know if i should cut my egr tube. i know it sticks down a good way and it will free up some air flow, but does it effect the opperation of the egr valve in any way that might be bad or make it not work properly? or as long as i leave a little sticking down should it create enough suction to draw out the unburnt gas?

Don't know "exactly" how it effects the EGR. But i cut mine this past weekend while installing my Lt's. Took me all of a couple min. Man was the inside of that thing filthy!
Know this will help with my TB from Bret Bauer this week. Be careful as to not drop the
"o" ring inside. Did not effect idle or anything. Simply eliminated the restrictive part of the air tube. Hope this helps.

Cut it. Was one of the first mod's I did on my car. Do not over tighten the bolt or it will break the brass fitting loose on the intake. I don't think this mod really helps make much extra power but it might help a little with consistancy.

Read this, it's about as thorough as you could ask for. But personally, I cut the EGR, then I later removed it all together. If I were you I'd just pull it off completely. Do what you like though, it's your car payment. lol

it also says at the bottom that the temps might go up. im having a hard time with hot temps and pinging...now is this something taht wont matter as long as i get a 160*, i plan on getting one. and that air moves so fast through there, how in the world can it affect the temps that much?
