Default slp header question ...did you loose top end power?

I have a 98 formula with
4k yank
factory manifolds &y-pipe w/gutted cats
slp dual on the left cat back(which is for sale!!!)
3.42 gears

I installed slp long tubes and true duals this weekend
they stop and have turndowns right behing the tranny
crossmember on each side

the car feels very strong in first and second but in high gear it just seems to be weak compared to the modified factory exhaust
Is this normal on longtube cars?
with longtubes has everyone been adding more timing?

maybe it is just all the noise I expect it to feel alot stronger

thanks for any input!!

I had no drop off up high, if anything it increased. Do you still have COT enabled? You maybe feeling the effects of the PCM dumping fuel.

I went with Hooker tuned length Longtubes(LT's from tbyrne)(www.tbyrne.com) and a dual exhaust with an x-pipe(duals from lanes)(www.laneswheels.com)...and I have noticed an increase everywhere...no loss at all...this thing pulls hard all the time....man It feels great

mine suck... i can only run 11.50@117 with a 224 cam and stock heads.... HAHAHA

tell me, did you have the dumps right behind the trans before or after the headers went on. The louder the car is, the slower it actaully feels like you are going. Mine feels slower than hell with the cutout open cause it sounds loud enough to be running 4's in the 1/4th

most of those that say SLP headers suck just dont like SLP. Mine run just fine.. No dynos though:-P

the dumps went on after,I had a full exhaust before
that might be it...I do have single chamber flowmasturds on it also hehe

did you add some more timing in your car when the headers went on?

the key to not loosing power is the right exhaust...and tuning....
a good dual with an x-pipe will solve most of your problem...and then get dyno tuning and all will be good...
