Default Meziere EWP: Thermostat or switch?

Meziere EWP: Thermostat or switch? Does it come with provisions for turning it on, and if so, what are they? Is it activated by a thermostat, or by a switch? Thanks, Shawn

I thought it ran all the time (when the car is on, unless you wire it with a switch for use when the car is off) and a normal manual thermostat controlled the flow?

I've not seen one, but that is the way it was working in my head

Well, that makes sense, too.

pump runs all the time... u drill 2 3/16 holes in the outter edge of the Tstat (not housing obviously) to allow for flow and not put stress on the E- Motor. I ran a Race Version no tstat for a while with no problems. I dont even plan on using the Tstat. U hook it up to a Key On power sourse so when the key is on Ur pump works. U can also put it on a switch also, so u can have the pump running in the stagin lanes without having to turn the the key

if you race at the track...put it on a switch for cool downs inbetween runs (along with fan switch). a daily driver would work great on a 12v source only when the key is on.

I have the race version also.

I am still building the kit car it's going in, my question is how and where can I put the alternator. It’s the only accessory I need to run. Does somebody make a bracket + belt to run just the alt.

How much current does the motor on the pump draw?

what do you have to do to make the race version run in a street car, is it worth saving the money?

I have the race only also. I fought with the altenator for a day or so and then found the solution. The altenator and altenator bracket stays in the stock location. I installed the tensioner pully in the idler pully location located on the altenator bracket. The altenator bracket needs to be modified a little to achieve this which means grind off some of the bracket support in that location. You'll see. You will use only 1 bolt to bolt on the tensioner pully. The tension from the belt will hold the pully in place. The belt size is 37". You will also need to grind off a portion of the lower bolt head so the belt does not rub. That's it. It works great. I'll e-mail you a pic if you are interested. This mod works great.

edit: I put the pic back on my web page for you. Click the link below and look at modified tensioner pully. Good luck.

My engine was out of a vett, so the alt was mounted up high on the right side. Maybe I'll see if I can locate a used camaro alt braket. thanks for the tip.

LOL

Actually, I just ordered the street version of the EWP so I wouldn't have to fight with anything. For those who have done the install, Which wire did you tap into for ignition on power? Did you use a relay?

Thanks,

Jordan

LS1 STREET PUMP flows more than the race pump...
55gpm vs 35gpm I belive...
Draws more amps too, 11-13 amps...

I took power from the aux +12 battery terminal, at the fuse box area...
Used a relay too, taking the 'trigger' from the fuel pump power wire...

This way whenever the fuel pump is on, the EWP is on...
Did it this way, as I have LS1Edit...

Dave
