Default duals or y?

which would you guys do for a dd? A catted y from tsp or true duals, the only problem with the catted y is that i have a stock cb with a flowmaster muffler only. Any input would help

the only problem again with the catted y is that i have a stock cat back holding back power and i figure its cheaper to just run it out the back then buy a whole new catback right?

i think ud be better off runnin duals all the way back, it "should" be a lil cheaper and sound a lil better as well. if ur dead set on flows then have the shop run the pipes through some flows and out the back, problem solved

isnt that what the cutout is for? cutout closed for better emissions and lower sound, cutout open when you need those extra 20 horses or so.

So...Are you asking us what we think you should get ? Or which one is better to get ..?
True duals ofcourse flows better and when you start adding up the mods including a cam. You will be very happy you went the TD route.

Y pipe has little better clearance depending on suspension, Restrict flow depending on size and brand. But thats where a cutout comes in handy.

If your worried about emissions or sound or looks of it .. just get a Y .. problem solved

all my friends that went true duals hate them after a year. Dosnt mean you will or others will, but some cant stand the noise after awhile of driving it all the time. Thats why I suggested the Catted Y with a cutout. Alot of people say the cats really clean up the sound of our cars. And with an Electric Cut out in there you can go open at the push of a button.

true duals are about the only way to get a ls1 sounding good anyway, so do that

just because they're duals doesn't mean that haveto be loud if thats not what you want

True duals are mas 'spensives for a DD. I would probably go with the catted Y and a cheap catback system. I have the Hooker catback on my ride and it aint bad. You can find it for like $350. If you need more aggressive, do a cutout.

It is possible, but of course you'd have to get your cats welded into the new Y. Check your prices and see if it's worth it. You could always sell the Hi Flow cats you have now...though the stock cats aren't that restrictive...
