AIR Removal 2000 Camaro SS PICS
Hi All,
After searching through the forums and posts, I discovered excellent wrip up detailing the removal. The guide, however did not cover the "extra" pieces as equipped on the 2000 model year. I have taken a few pictures of the whole unit removed and how I chose to deal with the vacuum line in the back of the manifold.
Below are the pictures of the AIR System removed as well as the EGR and the old LS1 coolant lines and LS1 manifold as I swapped to the LS6.
Hope this helps some people as I had great difficulty understanding the vacuum line "posts" on what to plug, remove, etc.

Vacuum Line situation
Here's a pic of the rear manifold vacuun lines.......if you enlarge the photo, you'll see my cruel drawing of what I took off. I removed the whole T fitting and the only vacuum line need to conect comes from the passenger side rear firewall that is used for the climate control system.
I modified the vacuum line fitting to connect directly to the rear of the manifold's single nipple eliminating the whole "T" thing....

vacuum line
if ou cut the remaining fitting back, it'll fit perfectly over the nipple on back odf the intake...
FYI
I did a ported TR throttle body with the ls6 intake swap, and the idle was high before coming down.
Make sure you do the tps reset and the idle learn to correct this problem.......hope I helped some people out with this.

I'm installing the fast intake and there is the hole for the map sensor, a connection for the brake booster hose on the driver's side and a small nipple on the passenger side of intake.
I'm getting rid of the entire AIR system and was confused a little bit.
Do i need to connect anything to this small nipple on the new FAST intake or not?
The small rubber hose is just hanging there in the back of the engine. Is this the HVAC controls hose? I thought I just buy a freeze plug for this hole.
I will be installing this week so someone please help me please. Thanks

if u still want the A/C controls to work, just plug up the nipple for the AIR or just install the boot frm the vacuum line directly on the nipple on the intake
if running no A/C, install a vacuum plug over the nipple on the back of the intake
