dude nearly 4 grand?
That would be better spent on H/C. you can get a nice setup for that amount of coin!

edit: Damn I need to be faster with the post button!
Dude 500+ bucks for an LS6 intake? Where did you find that? Its brand new right?

To save you a little more money, you could buy the LS6 used in the classifieds section for $300 or so.

In all seriousness, don't waste your time.

The LMI c/b is garbage, as well as their LTs. Your stock MAF is capable of handling uo to 500 RWHP! The smooth bellows is junk, the stock accordian style one does the job just right!

Get a good set of LTs... QTP, Kooks or ARH are all SS... if you can not afford that then get pacesetter ceramic coated LTs.

Next get a good quality c/b..... GMMG, Corsa, Hooker.. JMHO i do not like Magnaflow.
SLP's horsepower claims are in bhp, not rwhp. That package is more than enough to give you 400bhp.

That being said, some of the mods are useless and you can get much better parts mixing and matching brands.

what i woukd get is:
ARH lt's
ARH catted y
GMMG
SLP lid
LS6 intake
TSP H/C kit (stage 2.5 5.3/MS3 or Torquer v3 cam)
then you still might have some money left to save for a 12 bolt or a 9"

I think I meant ported throttle body in general since someone asked if it was a worthwhile mod to do. I went through sean at thepowderpro.com

As said...there are many cheaper, better ways to make power.
SLP over rates their power gains, and charge WAY too much for average parts.

Since we are here....might as well mention that you should stick with your stock MAF.

yeah i agree with everyone, you can do a lot more things
custom cam swap with all right parts for the swap 1000
ls6 intake and ptb 375
good dynotune 500
headers and y if you go pacesetter 600 i would go ory but its whatever
that right there would save you $1500 and give you a lot more power and be kickass, the 400hp package isnt 400hp either!!!

I read where they put that package on a TA in Pontiac high performance (I think). I believe the TA put out the numbers expected after the package was installed. Goodluck

Why buy one new?? These are all over the place, on any of the classified boards or ebay, for 300-350. It's a intake, they don't wear out...nothing wrong with buying used and saving yourself 200 bucks.

Only reason to buya new one is if you're going SLP to keep your EGR.

+1 don't buy a brand new one....pick up a used one in the classifieds...

Like said earlier you still have enough left over to do a nice heads/cam package from texas-speed or any other mods that you have been thinking about.

Personaly if I were you to make that 400hp, I would do the heads/cam and you will be making atleast 400 to the tire if not much more depending on the heads/cam you get but that would net you the most power for the best amount of money.

Good luck though!

Well, I told everyone I'd let them know how it goes! I ended up getting my TB ported, I also have the Magnaflow CB, K&N air filter, and I bought a lid! I put on the Lid and Ported TB and "debaffled the hood at the same time, SOTP difference! I've decided not to go with an ASP pulley, just WAY to many people for it and against it at the same time. Half the people I talk to say it isn't worth it and could cause problems. The other half say its ok and gives a little more power, I'm just gonna skip it. All I have left is Long tubes and the LS6 intake Manifold. I'm getting these items for Christmas and after installing them will head over to Forcefed performance in Sacramento for my dyno tune to get everything dialed. Just like everyone said I should be runnin around 400hp at the motor after its all done. While I'm in Sacramento I'm gonna go run my car at the track and see what all the hard work has evolved to. Since everything else is stock (suspension, tires, ect...) I'm hopin to run 12.8-12.9 if I lower my rear tire pressure and get a good launch. Will report back after X-mas!

they arent made of glass, if your on normal street tires you arent going to come out of the hole and break it.... ive gone 1.6X 60's all day long and never had anything happen to mine, even with the 4.11s

remove a end link from your front sway bar at the track. you'll get better weight transfer and probably hook up better.

some other small upgrades you can do...and make ideal small gifts for Xmas.

poly torque arm bushing - $15
TB bypass kit - $15 or you can piece it together yourself
lower control arms - $100
relocation brackets - $120
differential girdle - $140 to help keep your rear end in one piece.

IMO, do yourself a favor now and buy a 9". Your gonna need it sooner or later if you keep adding hp. It's better off to do it now then for it to break on you and you don't have the money for a rear.

Total for the kit is $3983 and comes with everything needed for the install.
wow ridiculously overpriced, you dont need the smooth bellow, MAF, roller rockers, CATS, and a custom tune would be much better than the programmer it comes with. Ide say you could get the same 50bhp claimed for well under half finding used parts in classifieds or cheaper companies
