Hey guys, has anyone every heard anything about the SLP 400hp Package? I've been planning on getting it for years and finally have the money. I will be bolting it on my 2000 WS.6 M6. Just wondering if anyone has every installed or helped install one, maybe even heard reviews about it. Any info will be much appreciated.

I think you would be better off going through texas-speed or another sponsor and you could get alot more for your money and possibly a lot better guality parts and fitment. But Good luck with whatever you choose.

That package will not net you 400.. Also if you like to sacrafice dorund clearance then those are the best headers to get...

In all seriousness, don't waste your time.

The LMI c/b is garbage, as well as their LTs. Your stock MAF is capable of handling uo to 500 RWHP! The smooth bellows is junk, the stock accordian style one does the job just right!

Get a good set of LTs... QTP, Kooks or ARH are all SS... if you can not afford that then get pacesetter ceramic coated LTs.

Next get a good quality c/b..... GMMG, Corsa, Hooker.. JMHO i do not like Magnaflow.

Shop around. You can make good power for a lot less than than. Here's my list if you're looking to do a full bolt on setup on a budget..

-Ported TB- $55 (If you get one through me )
-Lid of your choice- Ebay has $90 SLP lids all over the place
-Pacesetter LT's/Y pipe- $485 through Texas Speed
-ASP Underdrive pulley w/ belts- ~$220-230 with the belts
-160 thermo stat- $50
-Street and/or Dyno tune to dial in your mods/delete codes- ~$300-500 depending on who does it
-Magnaflow ($450ish) or Hooker catback ($350ish)- Both are great flowing, and sounding catbacks
-Free mods- You can do the "cold air induction" yourself, TB bypass, cut the EGR tube, etc $ - Free

Total = $1860 (This is factoring in the most expensive dyno tune, and the more expensive exhaust selection)

With that setup above you'll gain 40-60 rwhp with a good tune. That will put you at the "400+HP" mark at the crank, and ~340-360 rwhp depending on how strong your car is.

Good luck

ok they want to give you 400 crank horse I look at it like this

arh headers $1420 for headers and cated y
custome cut cam with matching springs and push rods $800
a set of prc heads $1200
tune $450
300 for extra stuff header bolts gaskets and other odds and ends.
total $4170
but depnding on the cam you may be at or above 440 rwhp or about 510 at the crank. I think ill blow the extra 2-3 benies

I'm with everyone else, but I like the SLP catback, the SLP lid and the bellows....

everything else though I'd get through someone else for less....

Wow Damien, that looks like a really good list, I'm really interested in the ported throttle body. Would I send that to you and then you would port it and send it back? And, if I am going to go that way, I think I would want to get the 78mm FAST intake manifold as well, would you suggest that? And my last question would be if anyone trusts a place in Las Vegas for dyno tuning?

LEP is one of the go to guys in Vegas.

I had good luck with a ported throttle body from thepowderpro.com

He ports, polishes, and powdercoats throttle bodies and they look/perform awesome. I don't think anyone does it as cheaply as spartan performance, but I like the way my throttle body looks and you can tell it was ported to the maximum. He also does a core exchange service and contacts you quickly through PMs. just check out some of the work. WWW.THEPOWDERPRO.COM

get a good heads/cam package, lke PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads with a cam (custom would be best IMHO), either ls6 or fast intake, and a 9" rear. that way you can get this newly found power to the ground without having to worry about that shitty 10 bolt. there are alot of routes you can go, just dont buy that **** SLP package (thats 400 crack hp, only a 50 increase)

A Fast/78 isn't worth the money on a stock internal motor. It will make more power, but not enough to warrant the $ spent. You can swap over to an LS6 manifold w/ a ported TB for much cheaper.

Yea man save your money on that. With a lid, headers, and tune, I put down nearly 340 rwhp, which is right at 400 crank.
