Default Box stock forged 5.3L pistons?

anyone make them? All i've been seeing in searches and at sponsors is boring out the 5.3L block to match the 3.90x bore of the 5.7L

thanks

You should just have the block honed to 3.905 and use those pistons. Ideally, every time you install new pistons you should hone the block.

No one has an off the shelf forged piston for the 5.3. You can have them made, but it will be much to expensive to be feasible. It's cheaper to bore the block and run the 3.905's, which is why almost everyone goes that route with the 5.3 block.

i'm not looking to just drop them in. i understand a clean up is necessary. I just didn't want to bore that block out that much. Looks like it's a must though

I needed pistons for a 4.8 and could not find anything. I ended up having a set made to work with my parts.

Thanks Kurt.

This was kind of a budget project. Might as well call up Ross and custom order them.

^ Why do you not want to hone the cylinders to 3.905? I don't understand why you'd want to put forged pistons in, but not increase the displacement easily and safely.

I needed the smaller piston to meet my engine needs, 305 or less cubes that will live at 900hp for 2 minutes without breaking. Of course I wanted to use the LS based engine because it can be made to live well at those power levels.
