Default Speed Inc. Does it again!!!

Just got my car back this week and HOLY COW!!! I took my car to Speed Inc. to do a few mods and i told them to put on what works. When I picked up the car, I was given a dyno sheet with 388 RWHP and 370 RWTQ. This was thru stock rear with 3:73 gears and a Vig 3600 Stall UNLOCKED. SLP Long Tube headers WITH CATS, and SLP Loudmouth Cat back. ASP Underdrive Pulley, Speed Inc. ported throttle body. They sold me on a set of RGR Stage 2 heads with a 224/224 .563/.563 114 lsa H/C package. I was a little leary on the heads not being a known company and all but trusted their word. They told me that this company is doing an awesome job and they use these on their own cars. Well needless to say with my heavy 3520lb. car and 100% humidity outside, I managed to click off an 11.55 @ 117.80 mph with a 1.61 60 ft. at BYRON this weekend. This was done with a Yank PT 4200 being the only diffrence from the original setup seeing that I already had the VIG. 3600. With a better 60 ft. and better conditions, I beleive there is alot more in it. I had to leave off an idle or I would break the tires loose. Time for a bigger tire huh I can't wait to get a bigger tire and stall that baby up like the yanks love to be stalled and pull some low 60ft's and some low 11's.

There are many posts out there with a lot of secrets (weight of car, other mods not mentioned) that are held back, so I wanted to post a real, no BS, not prime conditions post. As well as let you know that Speed Inc. is a great company to business with, and has a product that works.
If you looking for a reasonable priced set of heads that work... RGR is the way to go!

Hell they even washed my car for me so I could look good going fast!

Wow, I am not too impressed with the actual dyno numbers, but WHO CARES, that ET is the shiznity!! This is where the real deal starts to payoff, not just being a dyno queen. Congrats to you and Speed Inc.

Well you say the dyno numbers are low, and I thought so too. But, it is and A4 with a 3:73 gear. The converter was a 36-3800 7 pump Vigalante UNLOCKED. Put this setup behind a M^ and see where you stand. Also thru CATS. Alot of people are hooked on dyno #'s. I don't want a dyno queen. I want A TRACK KING! and thats what I got.

As for price. You would have to call speed Inc. There prices are very reasonable. And as in any condition, the more you buy the better deal you get. But call them and they will take care of you. They give great deals!

When I had a similar setup my unlocked PI3600 #'s were 25rwhp lower than when I locked up the converter.

Nice ET and MPH, You are well over 400rwhp locked...

What weight removal do you have if any, what what tires were you running on?

Can you post the graph? or the info by RPM You said the converter was unlocked, but an unlocked converter (especially high stalls like a Vig 3600 ) will result in the TQ being much higher than the RWHP becuae the converter multiplies torque below the 4500 - 5000 rpm (depending upon the converter).

Glad to see you're pleased. Speed Inc. is a good shop and getting a clean car back is a nice touch.

The drivability is great... starts great, idles great, idle is around 800ish. The stall is pretty big, but not much different than the vig on drivability. Nothing more than you would expect with a cammed car with a big stall. I'll drive the car just about anywhere.

Tire run on the dyno were stock rims and tires. Tires at the track were weld prostars and stock camaro rims with 26 x 10.5 x 16 ET Streets. Weight removal... well the back seats and spare tire and jack.

I have the dyno sheet but will have to get it scanned...my scanner is down right now. Gotta love computers.

Anyone want to guess what HP and TQ I'm gonna make? This is like foreplay, almost better than the main event...!

I had a prety similar setup done to my car by SpeedInc last month, just minus the heads and TB. I will agree that they do great work, but your #'s do seem a little low. My car is an A4 with same cam but stock heads, TB, ls1 intake and no under drive and I put down 373rwhp on their dyno. I am hoping to be over 400rwhp when I do heads and ls6 next year. I guess every car does dyno a little different.

Yeah, but he has a bigger stall than you do and also runs cats. Were you #'s unlocked or locked? I agree that almost every car seems to dyno differently, but look at his track #'s. I'd say his car is making PLENTY of power based on it's curb weight and trap speed. In cool weather, look for this same car to run 11.30's @ 119-120 or so...

Mike

Well heres an update for you guys on my car. With NO changes in ANYTHING other than the weather. I managed to click off some pretty good times. The car kept getting faster everytime i ran it... but this is 2 seperate nights about 3 weeks apart. RUN #1 11.35 @ 119.74 w/ 1.58 60' and 11.34 @ 118.45 w/ 1.54 60'. Those were 2 diffrent days in some pretty good weather, but the slowest time in any weather now has only been an 11.56 @ 118. Remember, car weighs in @ a heafty 3620 with driver. And I think I managed to get both tires up once or twice Dyno numbers may have looked low, but track times are what matters

Speed Inc Rulez! Only problem with them is they have too much business for there own good. Was going to have to wait a month and a half to have a converter and gears installed. Had to go else where but still am very happy with Speed Incs other work they have done for me. Hope to drop off my camaro to them in Janurary or February to get the new engine and trans installed.

119.7 MPH is fantastic at 3600 raceweight, four years ago we were doing cartwheels when we would go 114mph with the same configuration you have now.
