Default TSP 228R, good DD cam?

Hey guys, I've got a cam swap coming up in my near future and I need some advice. This car is the only one I own, so it's my DD obviously and has around 69k miles. I don't have a huge drive to work or anything, but I've got to keep the car reliable. I'm open to any cam suggestion, but am leaning towards the TSP package with 918 springs and hardened push rods. Anyone run the 228R? For the record my car is pretty much a full bolt-on car and made 350/356 on the dyno last week. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I have that cam on a 112 lsa and it drives great, nice lope, good mpg, great power. I`m no expert but you may want to use the PRC dual springs, TSP will provide these with thier full cam kit.

I highly recommend it. I have this cam in 114 LSA in my LS6 crate engine that I installed in my Camaro. With the stock heads, FAST 78mm intake, stock ported TB and under drive pulley, I put down 418 rwhp/399rwtq.

228R on a 114. Picked up 44 rwhp with stock heads.
You'll need a tune.
Great for a DD.
Get the dual PRC springs. They are worth it.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I can get retuned for the cam, no problem. Is the 112 LSA the best choice for a M6? I don't mind a choppy idle.

That's actually kinda weak.. but I think it's the budget heads holding him back. There's a dyno graph ***** posted in one of these threads showing those heads and a 233/237 overlayed on a 218 cam with prof ported 243's, and the smaller cam walked all over the bigger one. The only real difference was the heads..

edit: found it, here you go:

Yes, the 112 LSA is recommended for the M6, while the 114 LSA is recommended for the A4. Having an M6 and not wanting too choppy of an idle, I went with the 114 LSA.

i like it, installed mine in august, havent got it tuned yet, plan on it this winter. I drove it 3-5 times a week, just recently until the snow came, where it'll be kept in the garage. I went with the cam package from TSP, 918 springs, pushrods, ls6 oil pump, and ls2 timing chain. pretty sweet deal, and can be done all yourself.
