Default Cam specs

OK, so i got a reply from comp cams the other day on a cam recomendation. Im willing o take more from you guys by he way. But heres the deal. I have an 02 A4 Z28, with full exhaust, motive 3.90s, lid P/P TB, SS4000 stall and other bolt-ons. Everything done to my car i either did, or had a hand in doing, but Ive nver done internal work before so im a virgin too cams. I know i need a set of heads and i know a million of you guys will tell me i do anyway, but considering with my 2 kids haouse and wife, its taken me 3 years to get this far, heads are alittle down the road, so its cam only fo now. Below are the specs, disect them and help me understand with first hand knowledge or if anybody has a similar set-up. Really what i want is an 11sec. car. Im deployed right now to Iraq, but will be home next month and have to install the stall listed above and alot of suspension, i ran 12.74 on my third pass before i deployed, and before stall, but with some ET streets. Do you guys think i have a reasonable goal cam only? for 11s that is?

The duration and lsa are good but the lift looks a little low. From what i see most cams run around .560-590sih lift. You should be able to hit 11s with a good tune. You dont NEED heads. I'm going for a 10.80 cam only. I am a good bit lighter than you though.

Comp Cams also make that cam with a .581 intake and .588 exhaust lift..I would go that way..you will make good power and with a tune you will be pleased with the manners and drivability of the car...not to mention your time slips...

I would talk to someome other than Comp to spec your cam. If you call back three more times you will get a differant cam spec'ed everytime.

11's cam only with a 4k stall should be pretty easy.

Here is what I recommend 230/230 .612/.592 111+2 LSA

This is a custom cam "El Torro", aka the Bull. power range 1800>6500, capable of 400+rwhp cam only A4 if installed properly.
low 11s for sure, 10s with proper setup.

Cam only:
7.425 pushrods and PP or PRC dual springs for .650 lifts

The specs are (Comp Cam Lobes)

Intake lobe: 3016R XFI
Exhaust Lobe 3725R XE-R
111 LSA (lobe separation angle)
109 ICL (intake centerline)

Give those to any sponsor carrying Comp cams and they can get it ground for ya.

thanx alot for all the help man. Im all about throwing as much as i can when it comes to reaching my goals, and so far i think im on track, people said do 3.73s, i did 3.90s, people said do a 3600 stall, so i did a 4000, and your recomendation so far is the steepest for a cam-only set-up, but being its you, someone with as much cred as you can get on here, i am definatly inclined to listen too you, so thax man.
