Tap Tap Tap??
I have NO idea where its coming from. Bottom end or top...
The engine has 100K on it (short block)
I replaced the timing chain, oil pump, cam, push rods, (lifters from a 50K mile car)
I get a lil piston slap on a cold start up, but then I get this tap tap tap noise.
It is noticeable at idle, but with some RPM's it seems to quiet down. (could be due to the open y-pipe)
I am showing 60psi w/ 15w40 Castrol Tection diesel oil.
Would a bad lifter or bearing get quieter with more engine speed?
I just really can't tell where its coming from..I guess I need to break out the pvc pipe

i know i have a ls1 that i have put a mechanic stethiscope on, and it keeps tapping on no 7 cylender. pistons can shrink with time. my dad is a machinist and has been building engines since the early 60's can confirm. im taking over his legacy, some people think im joking when i say pistons shrink, but i have seen it happen alote.
