Haha YES! It actually is a wine rack too. Notice the bottles in the cylinders. I'm determined to blow my motor so i can build one. You got 4 good pistons to use too. It'll be great!

It was my fault, I did not check the PTVC when I was putting the combo together, I just took shops word. Everyone learn, BIG MISTAKE

It's ok I'll figure it out...

Give me some suggestions!
You plan on going to talk to this 'shop' at all? You would think they would check the PTV regardless...

Ok so is the cylinder wall damaged, is the oil pan off to check the crank? Before you go charging a new motor you very well may be able to get this one fixed. If the Cylinder wall isnt scarred(probably is at least alittle) and the crank is ok just get one new rod and piston. I know alot of people think that you cannot do that but it is possible. Dont give up just yet, there are options out there. About the only option you dont have is fixing that damaged cylinder head. Please let us know

One other question. If you can recall what springs are in the head and how many miles were on the springs?

Thanks

You dont need luck - an educated decision will suffice.

That doesn't look so bad, if the cylinder wall is ok just fix what you have. The shortblock repair is the easy fix, I'd be worried more about getting the cylinder head repaired correctly.

Is there any eyebrow marks on the other pistons from PtoV issues?

Hey guys,

Sorry, snowboarding trip is what I needed to get my mind off this...

I'm not so sure about the cylinder walls, but my bigger problem is that the block is cracked, there is a crack that runs from the cylinder to the edge of the block, and to my understanding, that is what requires a new motor...

I have a pretty sweet deal on a built 408 that I am going to have to pull the strings to find the cash..

looks like you had a bent valve that wasnt seating all the way and was beating the hell out of the piston over time...then it fucked up the spark plug causing a over rich condition and then BOOM!

That's some impressive carnage. I have a stock short block with a cam in it I'd sell to you for pretty cheap if you want to go that route.
